Homelessness Exhibition on Friday, May 18th,2012

According to the  Exhibition " Homelessness has no color, creed or origin, no age or gender, only victims"
This is a very sad fact that everyone should relate to, even if they are not homeless them selves because trying to understand what those individuals go through and feeling their suffering would make others work on helping them and on trying to make the world a better and easier place to live. yet for those who've never experienced poverty it is hard for them to imagine how bad it can get. Consequently,
The pictures on the exhibition were taken by some of the homeless people to have more honesty and truth in them , to be reachable and touching to other people's feelings.
there were lots of  interesting and important points , but here are the ones that attracted me the most :
- It caught my attention how faces can be so expressing and how those face expressions sometimes are better than the words spoken during such tragic times.
- as mentioned before homelessness has victims but even worse that the True victims are mostly children because they are the ones suffer the most.
- I was also impressed by how strong those homeless people were, and how they are always positive and looking at the bright side, and always having hope and faith, as one of them said " you always have some power to make dreams come true, as long as you believe"

Some of my favorite points:

- Some pictures were taking in Black and white as those two colors can match a homeless' feelings.
- How homelessness was described as being trapped inside and looking outside towards the rest of the world.

Me in Rochester

My name is Sarah, I was born and raised in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. I am now at Nazareth College of Rochester, and studying in the Center of International Education. Which to me is a very huge transitional point of my life..I now get to do, and experience things I have never done before in my entire life..I got to live in an apartment and for the first time it's ONLY ME, I got to Sign some paperwork and feel all independent, I got to go for grocery shopping and have my own things, to also take the bus everyday to school, which is just different from where I come from, the whole transportation system and how it works on  Fixed Schedules everyday. At first I thought that is some how impossible but now I realize that some people actually have their daily lives Relying on these buses and these buses are very committing to their routs so I got to gain some Trust towards them.
and since Rochester is such an amazing place to be at in the spring/summer time of the year, it has lots of events lots of festivals that I'm not even close to be catching up with all of them. It's just that "There's Always something happening in Rochester" . So far  I've been to only two, the first was the Busker Contest on East Avenue, which had lots of musicians playing on their guitars and singing varieties of songs and you get to vote for your favorite ones, I love Music and guitars and so I enjoyed it alot.
The second one was The Lilac Festival, it is mostly for families and people who appreciate nature since it was held in the Highland Park, with all the grass and beautiful flowers around , it was just lovely.
I am sure there are much more to come and I can not wait to be part of all this interesting and exciting life of Rochester.
